Hi, I'm Shawna.

I am a professional educator and researcher with 7+ years of experience in higher education with a passion for evidence-based, student-centered pedagogy.

 

I have designed and implemented 10+ courses with up to 50 students each with curated, discipline-specific activities and assessments. As an interdisciplinary teacher-scholar with training in social sciences and humanities, I have honed my ability to distill and translate complex topics and skills from across disciplines engaging with issues around equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice.

 

My extensive experience with facilitating small and large group discussions, accessible curricular development, and instructional design in both "live" classrooms and eLearning (asynchronous and synchronous) environments speak to my commitment to student-centered learning and ability to meet learners where they are. 

 

I am proficient with top Learning Management Systems (Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, etc.), Educational Technology (Flip Grid, Flip Snack, Slack, Edpuzzle, etc.), and Design Software & Platforms (Canva, InDesign, Photoshop, Captivate, etc.).
